✨ Our Story: Why John Melvin University and John Melvin Christian College Were Founded

Across America, families are questioning the value of higher education like never before. Rising tuition, crushing debt, political agendas, and degrees that fail to prepare students for real careers have left many disillusioned. Commentators like Charlie Kirk have called college a “scam,” highlighting concerns that echo the frustrations of countless parents and students.

For the founders of John Melvin University (JMU) and John Melvin Christian College (JMCC), these issues weren’t just headlines — they were personal.

During the COVID years, the founders had three children enrolled in college. They witnessed firsthand the frustrations that so many families experienced:
• Paying full tuition for watered-down online classes.
• Seeing classrooms filled with political agendas instead of real preparation.
• Watching students accumulate massive debt with little career direction.
• Experiencing a lack of mentorship, faith integration, and practical life skills.

They knew something had to change.

Instead of waiting for the system to fix itself, they decided to take matters into their own hands. Out of that decision, John Melvin University and John Melvin Christian College were born — institutions designed to fight the higher education crisis and restore purpose, affordability, and faith to learning.
